YOUR STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO BUILDING WITH MEASURED UP BUILDERS
THE INITIAL PHASE
To commence the process, you will have an initial meeting with our builder Nathan, where you can discuss your vision in detail and Nathan will gain a thorough understanding of your needs and where your new home is headed. From here, Nathan will recommend an architect that will be best suited to your needs and style. We work closely with a partner architect, or we can work with an architect of your choosing.
Alternatively, if you have pre-approved Council plans, we can commence the quoting aspect of the build straight away.
THE DESIGN PHASE
From here you will meet with your chosen architect to discuss and plan your ideas and personal style, functionality, environmental factors and inclusions. Your architect will then complete the design process of your new or renovated home including a detailed list of final finishes and materials.
Throughout the design process, Nathan can liaise with you and your architect to provide input as to the expected timeframes and estimate budget allocations based upon your chosen materials, inclusions and finishes.
THE APPROVAL PHASE
Following the completion and approval of designs, we will arrange both soil tests and for an engineer to develop your home’s structural drawings.
Once these are completed and approved by the regulatory authorities, you will submit both the council and engineering to your local council. We strongly advise the involvement of a private building certifier who can assist in streamlining the council approval process. We work with partner certifiers who can assist in this process.
THE QUOTING PHASE
We provide an in-depth, comprehensive quoting process that generally takes up to four weeks to complete which is at no extra cost to you. We provide a 100% transparent quoting process so you can see at a glance, exactly where your funds are allocated. Following the quoting process, we will provide you with a complete quotation booklet so everything you need is in the one place for future reference. We will meet with you to discuss your quotation booklet in detail before commencing with the build.
THE CONTRACT PHASE
Once we have completed your quotation and finalised your inclusions and costings, we will meet again to work through the building contract in fine detail to ensure you are 100% comfortable in moving forward with the build. When all parties are satisfied, the contract and any additional architectural plans and engineering specifications are signed, sealed and delivered.
THE BUILDING PHASE
This is where the fun begins and your new dream home becomes a reality. Nathan will be in regular contact with you throughout the building process and is on call to answer any questions you may have along the way. We encourage regular visits to the site to monitor how your build is progressing, or for those who aren’t nearby, we upload progress shots of your build to our website so you feel a part of the process.
THE HANDOVER PHASE
Your dream home is now complete! Once we have handed over the keys to your new home, we also provide a comprehensive handover booklet that contains all the information about your new home including colour selections, tiles and contact details of all the skilled trades who have provided you with their service in building your dream home. Your handover booklet is a handy reference for any future needs and contact details for your trades should you need them in the future.
